Chocolate fondant

Many of you have asked if we could post the recipe for the heavenly fondant we posted the other day. We made it but we thought it's way too difficult for us and it would most probably be ruined so why bother taking pictures if I wasn't going to share them with you. Surprisingly, the end result exceeded my expectations and not only did fondat become our all time favourite dessert but it's also THE EASIEST sweet recipe. Ever since we made it...and it worked! , we've been making all sorts of  baked desserts, fondants and soufflets like crazy. The last one (banana souffle) is my newest creation and I'll share it with you tomorrow.

Our chocolate fondant or lava cake...of molten chocolate pudding if you prefer requires only 5 ingredients, isn't it great? And what's so special about it? Its rich chocolate and orange taste, delicate crispy top and gooey, warm inside... need I say more?

The ingredients for 6 fondants (we made only for 3)

100gr unsalted butter
150gr 70% chocolate
4 eggs
125gr sugar
2 tablespoons flour
orange zest

Place the chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over a pan of barely simmering water. Make sure the bowl does not touch water. Once melted, stir until smooth. Take the bowl off the pan to allow the chocolate to cool slightly. Now add the orange zest.

In a separate bowl whisk the eggs and sugar until smooth and fluffy. Slowly combine both mixtures together and add the flour.

Grease each cup with butter and place baking sheet inside. It's better to cut out a circle for the bottom first and a separate, longer strip for the sides.

Pour the batter in each cup and put in the fridge for 1 hour. Somehow it makes the dessert more crispy. Stick a piece of while chocolate inside.

10 minutes before you take it out of the fridge, preheat the oven to 180C. Bake the fondants for 13-15 min tops. Serve warm with valilla ice cream, whipped cream or sour cream. Enjoy!!!
